Eight women’s singles players and eight women’s doubles pairings will battle it out in Saudi Arabia in the tennis season finale, vying for the crown of year-end champions.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka, Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen and five-time Grand Slam winner Iga Swiatek are among the group battling it out for glory.

The WTA Tour Finals 2024 (2-9 November) are taking place in the Saudi capital of Riyadh.

The tournament’s format is a round-robin, with players divided into two groups where each faces three others. The top two from each group advance to the semifinals. This format often leads to unexpected upsets and thrilling matchups, as every player must adapt quickly to different opponents. Sabalenka and Swiatek are considered favorites, but with a roster of young talent and experienced competitors, any player could claim the title in Riyadh.

Swiatek, Sabalenka at the finish line for Year-End No. 1. This edition will be the fourth consecutive WTA Finals that will feature Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek, who are once again the top two seeds at the year-end tournament. They have been the only WTA players to hold the No. 1 ranking since April 2022, and it looks as if 2024 may be the year that Sabalenka finally finishes the season on top.
