Australian world number nine Alex de Minaur and British number one Katie Boulter announced their engagement!

The couple, who met on the tennis circuit, have been dating for almost five years. Announcing the news on Instagram, external with a photo of the ring, world number 24 Boulter wrote: “We’ve been keeping a small secret.”

Many of their colleagues quickly congratulated the couple on their engagement, including Emma Raducanu, Denis Shapovalov, Thanasi Kokkinakis, Madison Keys, Marta Kostyuk, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and many more.

De Minaur and Boulter are both beginning their season in Sydney at the mixed teams event. 

Australia begins its run against Argentina on the evening of 28 December. Great Britain faces Argentina on 30 December before Australia and Great Britain meet on 1 January.

Both have enjoyed excellent years on the WTA and ATP Tours, with Boulter going on to win in Nottingham and San Diego.

De Minaur also ended his 2024 with a huge win at the Ultimate Tennis Showdown bouncing back from his disappointing ATP Finals in Turin where he failed to win a match.
