The 2025 Wimbledon Championships is a Grand Slam tennis tournament taking place at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, England from 30 June to 13 July with the preliminary rounds played from 23 to 26 June.

The defending champion of the Men’s singles draw is Carlos Alcaraz from Spain and the Women’s singles defending champion is Barbora Krejčíková from the Czech Republic.

And we have sensational stunning winning in the first round from WTA #42 Dayana Yastremska against WTA #2 Coco Gauff!

Yastremska played bold, picking up several unforced errors, but also outplaying Gauff on the attack. The Ukrainian dominated in the second set as Gauff’s confidence plummeted, taking the match rather easily with a 7-6(3), 6-1 win.

The No. 2-ranked Gauff made mistake after mistake at No. 1 Court, finishing with just six winners and a total of 29 unforced errors, which included nine double-faults. She joined another highly-seeded American, No. 3 Jessica Pegula, in bowing out on Day 2 of the tournament on Tuesday. With the victory, Yastremska will now advance to play Anastasia Zakharova in the second round on Thursday.

“It was a great match today, I was really on fire,” the 25-year-old said of the contest. “Playing against Coco, it is something special. She’s a great player, great person, we have a very good relationship, I enjoyed it a lot.”

“I love playing on grass. I feel that this year we are kind of friends,” Yastremska said with a laugh. “I hope the road will continue for me here.”

Coco Gauff has become just the third woman in the Open era to lose in the first round at Wimbledon right after winning the championship at the French Open, eliminated 7-6 (3), 6-1 by the unseeded Dayana Yastremska of Ukraine.
