The 2025 WTA Finals is a planned professional women’s year-end championship tennis tournament that is scheduled to run from 1 to 8 November 2025 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). It is set to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the second straight year and will be the 54th edition of the singles event and the 49th edition of the doubles competition. The tournament will be contested by the eight highest-ranked singles players and doubles teams of the 2025 WTA Tour.

Surface & setting: indoor hard courts.

WHO QUALIFIES:

Top 8 singles players and top 8 doubles teams of the season.
Additional criteria: Minimum of eight WTA 1000 or WTA 500 tournaments during the season for eligibility.
Round-robin in two groups of four (each player/team plays the other three in their group).
Top two from each group advance to the semifinals: Group A #1 vs Group B #2, and Group B #1 vs Group A #2.
Winners of semis meet in the final.
Tie-break rules in group stage: number of wins → number of matches played → head-to-head for two-way ties → for three-way: sets won %, games won %.

WHO QUALIFIED:

Aryna Sabalenka – qualified early and is having a dominant season.
Big serve, heavy groundstrokes, good indoor hard-court game (which helps at Riyadh).
Unless she has a sudden dip, she looks the most consistent threat.

Iga Świątek has had ups and downs in 2025, but still among the elite.
Her variety of shots, strong defensive game, experience winning the WTA Finals before gives a very strong chance – maybe the biggest challenger to Sabalenka.

Coco Gauff as defending champion returns with strong credentials.

Amanda Anisimova. Breakthrough type of season, dangerous when she’s tracking well.

Madison Keys: big start to season (Grand Slam win ) means confidence.

Jessica Pegula: versatile, consistent across surfaces.

Jasmine Paolini has the momentum and fewer expectations, which can relieve pressure.

Elena Rybakina secured the last qualifying spot for the season-ending WTA Finals in Riyadh after advancing to the Pan Pacific Open semi-finals in Tokyo on Friday. When she fires she can beat top players.

PRIZE MONEY & STAKES:

While final figures for 2025 may not be entirely confirmed, the tournament is expected to feature a record prize money pool (higher than 2024 $15,250,000 total).
Winning the WTA Finals not only offers a substantial financial reward but also a major ranking-points boost and prestige (it is considered the season-ending championship for the women’s tour).

Let’s remember together the best moments of the last final and wish good luck to all the players!
