Jenson Brooksby won his first ATP Tour title in stunning style this week in Houston!
He did not play from the 2023 Australian Open to the 2025 Australian Open due to injuries, as well as an 18-month disqualification for missing doping tests.
The 24-year-old American returned only at the Australian major this season without a ranking and lost four matches in a row. Winner approached the tournament in Houston with three wins and six losses on the season.

After saving match point in three matches en route to the title – one in the qualifying first round, three against third seed Alejandro Tabilo in the main-draw second round and one against top seed Tommy Paul in the semi-finals – Brooksby left no doubt in a brilliant final performance.

In fact, Tiafoe was Jenson’s easiest match. Perhaps only Patrick Maloney, in the fourth hundred, was easier for Brooksby in the final round of qualifying.

The young champion has proved that persistence and hard training will bring the results even after huge break!
