No two men have played each other more times than world No. 1 Novak Djokovic and record 21-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal, a rivalry that began in 2006 and has produced some of the most riveting entertainment imaginable.

Rafael Nadal demonstrated once again why he is the greatest player in French Open history by beating long-time rival Novak Djokovic in a late-night thriller to reach the men’s singles semi-finals.

Djokovic defeated Diego Schwartzman on Sunday to make the quarter-final stage at Roland Garros for the 16th time in his career, while Nadal was forced to come from behind against Felix Auger-Aliassime in a match that lasted four hours and 21 minutes.

Nadal is the current Australian Open champion and has won the French Open title at Roland Garros a record 13 times, and only two players have ever beaten Nadal at Roland Garros, those being Robin Soderling and Novak Djokovic.

Titanic clash between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal played out today at Roland Garros 2022 with such results:

Rafael Nadal, the top winner of Grand Slams and the absolute historical boss at Roland Garros, once again demonstrated that there is no one like him on clay and has surpassed the current world number 1 Novak in a game of more than four hours and four sets.

The ovations do not stop for the Spaniard at Court Philippe Chatrier. Congratulations to Rafa!
