The 2022 World Tennis Tournament is an ATP 500 event headlined by Tsitsipas, Rublev and Murray with the draw promising a festival of tennis.

The tournament will start on Monday, 7 February, and will continue till Sunday, 13 February. The full schedule of the tournament is given below:

Monday, 7 February: 1st round
Tuesday, 8 February: 2nd round
Wednesday, 9 February: Round 1 and 2
Thursday, 10 February: Round 2
Friday, 11 February: Quarter Finals
Saturday 12 February: Semi-Finals
Sunday, 13 February: Finals

World No. 2 Daniil Medvedev was initially the top seed but he pulled out of the tournament due to fatigue. The Russian was replaced by 2009 champion Andy Murray.

Murray Added Late: Murray accepted a late wild card and will make his seventh appearance in Rotterdam, where he beat Rafael Nadal in the 2009 final. He lost to Rublev in the second round last year.

Wild card recipient Andy Murray once again was not particularly lucky with the draw as he will face the very solid Bublik in round 1. If he wins and that is quite an if, he will have to face Auger-Aliassime who is another hard test for the Brit.

Another top player who withdrew from the tournament is World No. 10 Jannik Sinner, having tested positive for COVID-19. 2017 champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga replaced the Italian in the competition.

Stefanos Tsitsipas is the #1 seed and is the overwhelming favorite to win the tournament. The Greek has played in Rotterdam every year since 2017 (including a 2018 qualifying loss) and holds a 4-4 record at the hardcourt event. He reached the semi-finals one year ago before bowing out against eventual champion Andrey Rublev.

Defending champion Andrey Rublev is seeded second and will be keen to bounce back from a disappointing Australian Open, where he was eliminated in the third round by Marin Cilic.Like Tsitsipas, Rublev has also competed in Rotterdam each of the past five years. His 2021 title run saw him defeat Marton Fucsovics in the final after beating Tsitsipas and Andy Murray earlier in the draw.

Andrey Rublev will face a qualifier who has not yet been named. After that, he will either face Kwon or Rinderkench which is a solid draw compared to Tsitipas who will have tricky opponents early on. Felix Auger-Aliassime as the 3rd seed will also face a qualifier with either Murray or Bublik waiting in round 2.
